Look beautiful, stand out, and feel comfortable at your rehearsal dinner
With all the planning that goes into the wedding, the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner are often overlooked. By the time they roll around, everyone is just ready to get the show on the road. So, it may be easy to throw together a “come as you are” dinner at Chili’s…
But this is the only rehearsal dinner you’ll have. It is PART of the wedding. It is a celebration of your single-hood, your growth as a couple, and everything that you’ve done that has let up to your wedding. So, I say celebrate! You don’t need to spend a ton of money at a 5-star restaurant, but getting dressed up and feeling beautiful will only heighten your excitement about your wedding celebration.
Depending where and when your wedding rehearsal is, you may not want to wear a cocktail dress with stilettos. But, you can still feel pretty and special as every bride should. I suggest wearing a white dress to your rehearsal. My cousin (who is six years older than me) did this, and it always stuck in my mind. It was clear that she was the bride, and that extra pop of white really exaggerated her happy glow. In fact, it seemed so apropos that I wore a white dress to my wedding rehearsal, too.
If you don’t want to go out and buy a new white dress, choose your absolute favorite outfit that you already own. You know…that beautiful piece that hangs in your closet every other day of the year, begging to be worn to a fancy dinner or a night on the town. There are never enough reasons to put on that perfect dress, and you should love what you’re wearing on the night before your wedding.
